Jonathan is a Methodist minister who has served in a variety of contexts. Since his ordination in 2004, he has served rural congregations on the Isle of Wight and urban congregations in London. Currently, Jonathan is the minister of Kilburn Methodist Church. He also leads Ignatian Meditation Communities – a new project which he began in 2020.
From 2016 to 2020, Jonathan served as Director of Learning and Development for the London District of the Methodist Church. His responsibilities included lay preacher training, continuing development courses for ministers, safeguarding (for children and vulnerable adults) training and vision days for local churches.
Jonathan is primarily interested in spirituality, community, and the development of the ministry of the whole people of God. He is particularly focused on Ignatian spirituality and new monasticism. His community work encompasses inter-faith dialogue and community organising. Throughout his ministry, Jonathan has always sought to empower the gifts and talents of all members of the body of Christ.
Jonathan enjoys improv comedy, running and reading about history. He is married to Lia and is bringing up two lovely children, Brecon, and Julian.
